Short answer: In our store, an original Littmann stethoscope in the Philippines costs from about ₱4,626 for the Lightweight II S.E. up to around ₱33,137 for the top CORE Digital version (prices as of November 2026, and they can change). The popular Classic III starts at around ₱7,670, while the Cardiology IV starts at around ₱17,346. If a “Littmann” is offered far below these ranges, treat it as a warning sign rather than a bargain.

What makes one Littmann more expensive than another?
The price steps follow what is inside the chestpiece and tubing, not just the brand name.
- Acoustics and chestpiece design. The Lightweight II S.E. has a tunable diaphragm on one side and a floating, non-tunable diaphragm on the other. The Classic III has two tunable sides: an adult side of about 4.3 cm and a pediatric side of about 3.4 cm.
- Tubing. The Cardiology IV and Master Cardiology use dual-lumen tubing, meaning two sound channels inside one tube, so there is no rubbing noise between channels.
- Materials. The Cardiology IV and Master Cardiology have stainless steel chestpieces.
- Electronics. The CORE Digital adds up to 40× amplification compared with its analog mode, active noise cancellation and Bluetooth pairing with the Eko app.
- Warranty length. Higher models carry longer manufacturer warranties: 5 years for the Classic III and 7 years for the cardiology models.
Why does the same model have a price range?
A Classic III in a standard finish and one in a special colour or finish are acoustically the same steth, but they are priced differently. The same logic applies to the other models: you are paying for the look, not for better sound. If you are a BSN student on a budget, the standard finish of the model you need is usually the smart choice. Name engraving is offered separately and does not change the stethoscope itself.
Why is a far-cheaper “Littmann” a red flag?
3M Philippines advises buyers to be cautious when a price is far below the recommended retail price or comes with unusual freebies and huge discounts. Fake Littmann stethoscopes are common online, and the price is usually the first clue. Other signs include a missing or blurry serial number on the chestpiece, poor engraving or print, misspellings or wrong logos on the box, parts that fit badly, and a seller who cannot offer the manufacturer warranty. Our guide on how to tell if a Littmann is original walks through each check, and the authentication page explains how genuine units are identified.
A fake also costs you more in the long run: no valid warranty, poor sound on duty, and parts that may not fit genuine replacement eartips or diaphragms.
What other costs should you budget for?
Over the years, a steth needs a few accessories. In our store, replacement parts such as eartips, diaphragms and bell sleeves range from about ₱496 to ₱1,841, and stethoscope cases cost about ₱1,370 to ₱1,500. Laser engraving of your name is available if you want to keep your steth from getting mixed up at the nurses’ station.
Which price tier fits you?
- Tight budget, basic assessments: Lightweight II S.E.
- Nursing or med student who wants one steth through school and the boards: Classic III.
- Clerk, intern or resident doing frequent cardiac and lung auscultation: Cardiology IV or Master Cardiology.
- Clinicians who need amplification or want to record sounds: CORE Digital.
